Sunny's dedication to Oncology Esthetics evolved from her own experience with cancer. Soon after opening Nouveau Skin Care and Day Spa, Sunny was diagnosed with colon cancer. She persevered through surgeries and chemo while continuing to work full time as an aesthetician, operations director and growing her Nouveau business.

The Tri-Cities Cancer Center worked around her schedule for her weekly treatments, and when she was finally “cancer free” she celebrated with champagne and started giving complimentary facials every Tuesday for 5 hours. She has been a volunteer since 2003. She loves giving not only to the Cancer Center, but especially to the patients, who may not have had the opportunity to have a real facial. The Cancer Center helped her put together a lovely “spa facial room” that is warm, cozy, has soft lighting and music and filled with aromatherapy.

Her volunteer work includes not only the Tri Cities Cancer Center, but Children’s Hospital Guild, supporter to Domestic Violence Services, Royal Family Kids Camp, helping to feed the hungry, and toys and clothes for children in need.
